Central Idaho Bush Trip For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

(12 customer reviews)

$4.99

Embark on this epic 15 leg adventure bush trip through Idaho’s remote back country and challenging landing strips right from the Bush Trip menu in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This bush trip will behave just as the included bush trips, with the added feature of being able to adjust the time, date and weather. This is crucial as this bush trip adventure will take you through the incredible remote wilderness and challenging airstrips of central Idaho during thunderstorms, snow, and a giant pink super moon.

These bush trips are an in-game experience, just like the bush trips that came with the game. Your progress will be auto saved and you will have the directions, distance, and ETE embedded in the on screen NavLog as well as access to the ‘back on track’ feature. I have also made it so you can fly whichever plane you like as well as added the ability to adjust date, time and weather, something you could not do in the original bush trips designed by Asobo. Additionally, our in-game experience has detailed weather settings to add to the challenge and beauty of your North Idaho Bush Trip.

See for yourself why these bush trips have received nothing but 5-star reviews from the Community.

For a limited time, fly all 48-Legs of our Idaho Bush Trip by purchasing all three Idaho Bush Trips at once.

  1. James Ward

What an incredible adventure! Don’t let the laid back first leg fool you. This bush trip gets incredibly challenging with crazy weather and very difficult landing strips. 15 legs is perfect. It doesn’t feel short, but also doesn’t overstay its welcome. Great work! Can’t wait for the next one.

  2. Dave F

I was excited to hear about the built-in bush trips for MSFS when they were announced during the beta. This Idaho trip blows them out of the water. The scenery is beautiful, the navigation is challenging, and the suggested weather will test your skills in many of the legs.
Having not ever been to Idaho, I would not have thought of flying here. But the landscapes are breathtaking and Michael’s descriptions help you to really experience the flights to their fullest. Looking forward to more!

Thank you Dave! Idaho really is incredible, and it’s known as the best state for backcountry flying (besides Alaska, of course)

  3. Alistair Mckelvie

Now this is a Bush Trip! Great scenery, challenging fields and variable weather / time. You have set the standard for what a bush trip should be and Asobo now have a lot to live up to! Looking forward to your next creation 🙂

    • mbonocore

Thanks Alistair! Appreciate the kind words. I am adding more dynamic weather to the next one 🙂

I let myself be tempted by this bush trip and already succeeded the first two legs.
The hardest part, as far as I am concerned, is that I have to read and re-read the instructions to be sure I understood them correctly. My mother tongue is French and the translation is missing. But that gives me a good opportunity to practice English.
I would as well have liked to have information on the minimum / maximum altitudes at the start of each leg, but the landscapes being magnificent they deserve to fly close to the terrain.

    • mbonocore

Thanks for the review Dan! You could try to translate the entire leg description file. It won’t have the descriptions in the sim, but at least you can have it on the side. The Idaho Bush Trip Description With Additional Information.txt file is in the download folder. I obviously wish I could have the packages translated, but unfortunately, I am just a dude sitting in my apartment with my dog, so I don’t have the resources (yet) to get a translator!

I did think about adding minimum and maximum altitudes, but I don’t think the in game bush trips had them, so I thought not knowing would add to the challenge of going into these legs blindly so you have to figure it out and adjust. I might change that philosophy in future trips!

Michael did an amazing job on the Central Idaho Bushtrip. I had a lot of fun playing it and you can tell that he put a lot of effort into it. I like that the weather information was provided as we did run into a weather glitch, which Michael notified me about, so it wasn’t a big deal to manually change it from the bushtrip menu. Fantastic scenery, challenging landings and I love variable weather / time. Leg 6 and the final 2 legs were my favorite by far!

Thank you so much for your kind words Ian! Hopefully they fix that weather bug one of these days. But I am also happy that I am now using the SoFly Weather Presets in future trips, which will make getting the ideal weather (which is near impossible to do in MSFS) with the click of a button! And good to know you liked the last 2 legs…I have some cool winter ideas 🙂

What an awesome Bush Trip. I am on leg 11 and have been loving it. Much better than the default ones from Asobo. Great weather, challenging strips, beautiful scenery, what more could you ask for. I will be looking for more of these as he comes out with them.

    • mbonocore

Thank you so much Joe! I have enjoyed trading emails with you through your adventure! I am excited for you to fly this North Idaho Bush Trip. You will love it.

Michael is the best bush trip developer thus far. He really tells a story and cuts no corners in details. His descriptions and routes are worth your time and investment. He really puts in all the effort into making this a clean, seamless experience that integrate into the default MSFS in a way that they look like they have always been a part of the package. You will find the beauty of Idaho that’s waiting for you to discover. I couldn’t recommend this more. For a price of a Starbucks, you will have a weeklong adventure to dig into and memories that will vividly materialize. The places you visit will stick with you. I am having a great time on the Central Idaho trip and am looking forward to experiencing Northern ID and anything else Michael offers.

    • mbonocore

Thank you so much for the kind words Jeremy. That really means a lot to me. I am very proud of the work I am doing. It’s long, tedious, and making my hair gray, but it’s reviews like this that make me realize it is all worthwhile. I can’t wait to hear your feedback on the Northern Idaho bush trip!

  8. Jozef

I have bought both Central and North Idaho bush trips and so far I just made first 3 legs of Central. As European I have never visited Idaho in person, but after flying these few legs, I really must put Idaho on my itinerary when I go to USA again. Trip presentation and MSFS maps really gives you almost a real life scenario feeling. Price is very reasonable and I am happy to support Michael and I hope that he creates us many other bush trips from other US states.

    • mbonocore

Thank you so much Jozef! I appreciate it. And yes, Idaho is amazing! You must come visit us when you come back. Wait until you get to the Sawtooth Legs!

5 Stars! Michael, you have created an amazing add on for Microsoft flight Simulator. The Central Idaho trip was well planned out and starts you with an easy leg and starts to get interesting after that. Before you know it you are flying along river valleys between 12000 ft mountains and finding these amazing air strips scattered throughout the mountains. With the weather settings you suggest for each leg really turns this bush trip into a full blown bush adventure! Cant wait to start the Northern Idaho trip!

  10. Peter

These bush trips are one great and big flying-adventure. So far I have flown 10 legs in the Idaho Central. Very well designed and thought through in the details. You can see that there is a lot of work has gone into this. I have purchased the combi Nort-Central Idaho. Nice those varied weather conditions on each leg. Idaho backcountry is beautyfull! I would love to fly here for real! Asobo did a great job on the scenery. A bit cumbersome to edit 2 FLT save files after closing MSFS To get the weather icon in MSFS (this workaround will be explained in the extensive enclosed documentation). Probably this is no different due to shortcoming of Asobo? The developer is very helpful and quick with response and solutions. On his recommendation I installed ‘Weather preset pro’ and this makes a big difference in the experience of the different legs. Some grasstrips are not so easy to find and some are a real challenge to land on. A true challenge to prove your landing skills. A recommendation I would like to make is to make ATC accessible during the bush trips. The flights are otherwise so “lonely”.

    • Michael Bonocore

Hi Peter, Thanks for the review! For the weather and the ATC issues, those are both built into the Bush Trip architecture and I cannot change them. Especially the weather, I wish I could fix the autosave feature. That hack is not even supposed to be possible in their bush trip architecture, but I found a way. As for the ATC, it is built in, but also, in following the blueprint left by Asobo, these bush trips are made to be just a pilot and his visual waypoint information and nothing else. This is the way they were designed by Asobo, so even if I could turn on ATC, I don’t think I would. Much like the VFRP map being accessible. It takes away from the challenge of the bush trip, so I wouldn’t include it.

  11. Dayne Bratsman

Beautiful trip with some very challenging landings! It really does a great job of showcasing Idaho’s lesser-known locations with amazing scenery.
